This website provides links to packages of my travel photos, assembled in PDF format.  Each package consists of between 70 and 200 captioned photos, in most cases presented chronologically along the route of my travels.

The location buttons on the left connect to destination web pages that provide:

-  a brief description of the trip or region,

-  some sample images (800x600 or 900x600),

-  an overview map,

-  a Table of Contents with PDF page numbers, and

-  the link to the PDF file itself.

I think you'll find that the PDF-format picture files have great advantages for you:

-  You get high-quality digital images that can completely fill your monitor screen.

-  It's easy to move from picture to picture – just a single key or mouse click.

-  You are not stuck with my sense of pacing.  You can move through as fast as you want,
   and you can skip whole sections easily.

-  There are notes below each frame, but you can study, critique, or ignore them,
   as you wish.

When you click on the link to the PDF picture file your web browser will begin to retrieve the file.  You may see a blank white screen during the download. This will take either a few seconds or longer depending on the size of the file and the speed of your internet connection.  Download times range from 10 to 20 seconds on a high speed connection with Firefox or Chrome browsers.  Internet Explorer 9 download times very widely from file to file for unexplained reasons.

Even if you are already familiar with PDF files I suggest you take a look at the "Save Option" and "Ideal Setup" topics on the Using PDFs page first.  If you're not familiar with PDFs, you'll find detailed suggestions for working with them, and for setting up the Adobe Reader to get the best pictures on-screen, on the Using PDFs page.

Background

Over the past few years I've been fortunate to be able to travel to some of the most beautiful and interesting countries in the world.  This website is my way of sharing the images and impressions I've brought home with friends, relatives, people planning trips to similar destinations, and curious web surfers.  I hope it encourages people to travel, and to travel early in life.

Some time ago I began assembling pictures from my trips into this universal PDF format so that I could share them with friends who have varying interests and incompatible computers.  Those assembled picture files are the basis for these postings.

Commercial Connections

Sharing photos with the Tour Director of a guided tour I took in 2005 eventually led to my looking after the website for that company, and I can do additional small-to-medium size sites at attractive rates.  Please see the Website Services page.
